PRA & FCA Regulatory update

16:00 - 17:30

Regulatory Update Forum

The objective of the iNED programme is to assist non-executive directors serving in the insurance industry in London (iNEDs) to respond to the challenges they face and to assist them in managing the onerous responsibilities they bear under the Bank of England’s Senior Managers & Certification Regime.   We do this by keeping iNEDs up to date with board issues, wider corporate governance matters and relevant regulations.

One of our regular and most popular events is the “Regulatory Update” Forum with both the PRA and FCA which, this year, will return to its traditional “in-person” format in the Lloyd’s Old Library. Our objective is to keep the community informed of the latest regulatory thinking in order to enable a better understanding the regulator’s expectations of iNEDs as they carry out their board duties.

This year the PRA representative will be confirmed shortly, while the FCA will be represented by Matt Brewis in his current role as Director of Insurance.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand better the plans and priorities of both regulators for the next 18 months or so.
  • Explain the current regulatory expectations of iNEDs in insurance
  • Describe the current “hot topics” for both regulators
  • Enable a more positive contribution by iNEDs to board deliberations, by being better informed
